Here is how to download and use a selection of free to use finite element vehicle models, developed by NHTSA. These models are extremely well designed and can be a useful learning tool for beginners to LS-DYNA and finite element analysis (FEA) modeling techniques. The model that I will highlight in this video is the Chevy Silverado Truck FEA model. Note, that these models are large and complicated and will be challenging to run on a local computer. Finite element analysis uses the finite element method to simulate physical events through computational modeling.
